Chicago to a Caribbean cruise is a six- or seven-hour gate-to-pier day if everything goes right. We handle the part most people underestimate: the South Florida ground leg, where a delayed flight, a rideshare surge, or a cruise-bus wait can chew through your embarkation window faster than the I-95 traffic that earned its reputation. Jiffy Jeff Transportation runs Chicago travelers from MIA, FLL, and PBI to Port of Miami, Port Everglades, and Port of Palm Beach as a private, flat-rate, flight-tracked transfer.

How the Pickup Actually Works

Once you book, dispatch links your O’Hare or Midway flight to a Sprinter. We monitor it. If you push back late, we know. If you land early, your driver is already on the way to the curb. The vehicle is climate-controlled. The luggage area holds the full group’s bags including the carry-ons that always end up checked. The chauffeur is in driver’s blacks, not a rideshare hoodie. For the full picture, see all cruise port transportation services.

The Routes Chicago Cruisers Book Most

MIA to Port of Miami

About eight miles and twenty to twenty-five minutes. We add a buffer for Saturday and Sunday morning embarkation traffic means the I-95 entry to Port of Miami backs up around 10 a.m. on big-ship sail days.

FLL to Port Everglades

Roughly three miles, fifteen minutes door to pier. Sailings on Princess, Celebrity, Allure of the Seas, and Holland America berth here. Drivers know which terminal each cruise line uses, so you drop at the right pier the first time.

PBI to Port of Palm Beach

Short and easy. We also run FLL → Port of Palm Beach when your Chicago fare into Fort Lauderdale was much cheaper than into West Palm Beach which is about an hour, flat rate, your group’s luggage in one vehicle.

What Comes With Every Transfer

Flight tracking. Curbside meet. Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans (up to fourteen) or executive SUVs for couples. Car seats and boosters on request, no extra charge. Bottled water. A clear, fixed price agreed before pickup but no surge pricing, no tolls billed separately. Same comfort across our broader airport-to-cruise-port shuttle service.

Why Private Beats Shared for Chicago Groups

A shared shuttle waits to fill. A taxi can’t accommodate a family of seven with seven suitcases. A rideshare is fine for two people with carry-ons; it isn’t fine for a multi-generational Chicago family flying down for an anniversary cruise. Our group desk coordinates multi-vehicle transfers via our transportation for large groups so the cousins from O’Hare and the in-laws from Midway end up at the same gangway at the same time.

Adding On the Rest of Your Florida Trip

Many Chicago travelers tack on a few days in the Keys, Naples, or Orlando before or after the cruise. We cover all of it but do see South Florida and the Florida Keys vacation transportation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should Chicago travelers fly O’Hare or Midway for a South Florida cruise?

Either works because Jiffy Jeff Transportation picks up at MIA, FLL, or PBI regardless of where your ORD or MDW flight lands. O’Hare has more non-stop options into MIA and FLL; Midway pairs well with Southwest’s FLL service for travelers heading to Port Everglades sailings. Both flight numbers are tracked the same way once they’re on file in your booking.

Is the Miami Airport to Port of Miami drive really only 8 miles?

Yes. The drive is about 8 miles via the Dolphin Expressway and I-395 to the MacArthur Causeway, normally 20 to 25 minutes. The catch is Saturday and Sunday cruise mornings, when the I-95 entry to Port of Miami backs up around 10 a.m. Jiffy Jeff Transportation pads pickups by 15 to 20 minutes on those days so Chicago groups still arrive 90 to 120 minutes before the boarding cutoff.

We’re flying ORD to MIA on cruise day with a 4 p.m. sail time, will we make it?

For a 4:00 p.m. Port of Miami sailing, target an MIA landing no later than 11:30 a.m. That gives 30 to 45 minutes for baggage claim, 30 minutes for the drive with embarkation traffic, and a 90-minute buffer before boarding closes. Jiffy Jeff Transportation flags your booking if the flight you’ve picked is too tight and recommends a same-day workaround or a pre-cruise hotel night in Brickell or on Miami Beach.

What kind of vehicle will my Chicago family of six get from Jiffy Jeff Transportation?

A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van for most groups of six or more with climate-controlled, real luggage capacity, seating for up to 14 with bags. For couples or parties of two to four with light luggage, an executive SUV is the default assignment. Vehicle type is confirmed in your booking quote before you pay anything.

Can you drive us from Port of Miami to Disney or Orlando after our cruise?

Yes. Jiffy Jeff Transportation runs South Florida-to-Central Florida transfers including Port of Miami to Walt Disney World resorts is about a 3-hour 30-minute drive. This is a common booking for Chicago families who tack on a Disney stay after a Caribbean cruise. Same Sprinter vans, flat-rate pricing, and the same chauffeur if you request continuity.

Do you offer round-trip discounts for Chicago cruisers?

Yes, bundling outbound (airport → cruise port) and inbound (cruise port → airport) into a single round-trip booking is the standard recommendation and reduces the per-leg cost. Most ORD- and MDW-origin cruisers book both at once because disembarkation mornings are even more time-sensitive than embarkation.

How much luggage can fit in a Sprinter van for a Chicago group?

A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van comfortably handles 2 full-size checked bags plus a carry-on per passenger for groups up to 10, and adjusts down to 1 large bag plus 1 carry-on for groups of 11 to 14. For Chicago multi-generational groups travelling heavy, Jiffy Jeff Transportation pre-assigns a larger van or stages a second vehicle so no luggage gets left behind.
